What are cookies?

Cookies are small files that can be used to store certain types of information that you have already supplied when you navigated through the website. The RARUM website uses cookies to record your preferences (for example, it can remember what web page of the RARUM store you visited, to make your next visit more convenient by showing you information about what you visited before). In addition to cookies, RARUM may, either independently or through third parties, use technologies similar to cookies, like pixels, that enable tracking and provide insights into user behaviour. As such, when cookies are referred to, we may also be including these similar technologies.

These cookies are sent to your browser and are stored on your device. However, you can choose your cookie settings via our "Privacy Preference Centre". If you don't want the RARUM website to save cookies, except those that are strictly necessary for you to access the site in basic mode and are essential for the website's functionality, you can disable them via the "Privacy Preference Centre" at any time.

Who is responsible?

The cookies we use at www.rarumorganic.com are managed by Rarum Organic SRL and will never be sent to companies or persons outside the above-mentioned groups.

In regard to the use of similar technologies, the party responsible for them may be RARUM or third parties with whom RARUM has agreements.

How do we use COOKIES and other similar technology at RARUM?

The RARUM website uses cookies and similar technologies. Once this information is collected, it is then analysed for various purposes, mainly to improve and optimise your browsing experience (e.g. showing you products that may interest you most), to track our customers' use of the website and to understand our customers' preferences (such as country and language options). We also use cookies and pixel tags to collect aggregated data on website traffic and interaction in order to identify trends and gather statistics so that we can improve our website.

In particular we use tracking pixels in the emails you receive from us as this technology, similar to cookies, allows us to know whether or not you open the communications we send you to find out if the information is of interest to you.

We use Salesforce data management platform to collect device information and behavioral data about how our websites and other digital touchpoints are used. The information is used to build audiences for marketing and online advertising. The aim is to make sure we advertise relevant products and services at the correct time. Audiences can be for example interest based (viewed kitchen products) or based on demography (age, gender). We will also connect profiles from different devices if you have logged into your RARUM Account. If you prefer not to receive targeted marketing and advertising you can deny the use of advertising cookies from our cookie settings.

To provide certain services on the website we use "local storage" technology. The purpose of this technology is to store data on the user's browser rather than on the browser of the website owner. With "local storage" technology, the user must delete their browsing history in the way specified by the browser being used.

In our case, we use this technology when we ask for your postcode. This information enables us to provide you with useful information, such as stock availability in the area or whether an item can be delivered to a specific area, while you browse our website or app. As you can see, this information is necessary in order to be able to offer you a quality and satisfactory service and for logistics matters on our side. We inform you that references to the postcode will not be linked to any other personal data and that it will be processed on the basis of legitimate interest. On the website the information will be stored for a maximum duration of six months and in the case of the app it will be stored until you uninstall the app. We inform you that should you wish to uninstall this technology you can do so as you would for cookies, in accordance with the provisions of this policy.

Examples of how we use cookies

To remember the items in your shopping list. either when you visit our website or, if applicable, to send you it via email if you have authorised this kind of email or, if applicable, you have accepted cookies allowing us to remind you of your shopping list or Google Analytics as detailed below.

• To calculate the number of visitors that access our website and ensure that there is sufficient capacity to make it fast.
• To improve the website's functionality, e.g. by ensuring that users can easily find what they are looking for.
• To ensure certain services work correctly, such as payment services.
• To recognise your user login so you don't have to re-enter it on every page you want to see.
• To show you more personalised advertisements that are tailored to your profile and browsing history.
• To be able to assist you via our live chat available on certain web pages.
• To remind you of any items you may have selected if you abandoned the purchase before paying.

For cookies to operate effectively, RARUM uses an ID identifier. It is not linked to any personal data so we can't identify individual customers who are browsing the website, except in certain cases, as explained below.

Google Analytics and Google Audience services

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses "cookies", text files that are stored on the user's computer and that analyses use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about use of the website is often transferred and stored on a Google server in the U.S.A. Google has adopted standard data protection clauses for the transfer of personal data to those in charge of the treatment established in third countries that do not guarantee an adequate level of data protection.

Google will also use this information on our behalf to evaluate how users use the website, compile reports on website activity and provide other services related to website and Internet usage. This website also uses Google Audience, a tool that uses both Google Analytics cookies—used to analyse and track users' browsing habits via cookie IDs—and targeting cookies—used for profiling purposes in order to show you personalised content. For this feature to be effective, you must expressly accept analytical cookies and targeting cookies. Likewise, in order for us to be able to send you personalised email advertising based on your browsing habits and the profile built by the cookie, we require your express consent to receive marketing content by email.

Within the framework of our sociodemographic analyzes, we may associate in an aggregate way the information obtained with other information obtained from the use of other means of analysis such as cookies (Google analytics) or even the information obtained at our premises.

We may also use analytical and/or performance cookies to build a profile based on use of the website or sections thereof. We may link your browsing data (such as date and time stamps, language, type of device, pages visited) with the information that we have about the quotes you have requested in-store in aggregate form (date, time and store selected, attendance or non-attendance at the appointment) to enable us to schedule specialist advice appointments and to provide you with the appointments that we have available based on your expected attendance.

What type of cookies do we use?

The cookies we use at www.rarumorganic.com to improve your experience as a customer are as follows:

• Strictly necessary cookies: These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the site will not then work. These cookies do not store any personally identifiable information.

For example, these cookies help us to assist you via our live chat so we can offer you a swifter, more immediate service when you're visiting certain web pages.
• Targeting cookies: These cookies may be set through our site by our advertising partners. They rely on the unique identification of the browser and Internet device in order to offer you personalised advertising. We may show you personalised advertising based on your profile whenever you expressly authorise the use of advertising cookies. These cookies also allow us to remind you of the items on your shopping list if you do not complete the purchase process and to email them to you, provided that you have previously authorised us to do so.

In this instance, we work with several providers that allow us to use this feature.

Many of the cookies are "session cookies", which means that they will disappear as soon as the session ends (when you close the browser). Other cookies are permanent, which means that they will be saved on your computer for a while.

How can you set cookies and revoke consent?

When you access our website for the first time, a window will appear. You will be asked to indicate whether you wish to accept, configure or reject cookies, except those that are strictly necessary, via the Privacy Preference Centre, which you can access directly from the website's main banner, as well as via the link available on the Cookie Configuration web page.

How to deactivate cookies and other similar technologies on the main browsers.

To turn off pixels, there is the option to do so in email settings by choosing the option to disable automatic upload of images.

RARUM may occasionally modify this Cookie Policy if new features that require notifying users are introduced to the website, as well as if regulatory changes occur, or if data protection authorities provide further information. We therefore recommend that you review this policy regularly.
